Hibs v Motherwell predictions for Saturday’s match in the Scottish Premiership. Motherwell aims to get back to their winning ways. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

PICK: Both Teams To Score

REASON FOR THIS PREDICTION

Motherwell travels to the capital on Saturday as they are hosted by Hibs at Easter Road. Can the home side impress their newly-appointed manager? Read on for all our Scottish Premiership predictions and betting tips.

Hibs go into this game on the back of a managerial change, with Jack Ross taking over at the helm of the club last week. Hibs sacked Paul Heckingbottom after losing to Celtic in the Scottish League Cup and hope that Ross can restart their season.

After embarking on a 5-game drawing streak and then losing to Celtic, the Hibees finally won their first game since August with a 4-1 victory over St Johnstone. The Edinburgh club has scored an impressive 16 goals so far, averaging 1.33 in all games. This number rises to 1.5 goals in their home ties, with Hibs also conceding the same amount on average and keeping a clean sheet in just 17% of those matches at Easter Road.

Motherwell’s brilliant start to the season took a turn for the worse just before the international break, as they were defeated 2-0 by Celtic in Glasgow- only their second defeat on the road as they also fell to Rangers at the end of October.

Overall, the Steelmen have been fantastic in their away days and they have netted an average of 1.33 goals, with both teams scoring in half of those matches. However, they have been prone to conceding too, averaging 1.17 goals and failing to keep a clean sheet in 67% of their away ties.

The teams come into this in fairly similar form and average an almost equal amount of goals, with the Hibees seeing over 1.5 goals in 83% of their home games and in 100% of Motherwell away trips. The capital club has also drawn 4 of their 6 games at Easter Road and is yet to win there since the opening game of the league- as well as the fact they’ve drawn 5 of their last 6 games. However, we believe that Jack Ross will give the hosts an extra boost to avoid defeat but not so much to win. We’re going to back both teams to score for this match as it has happened to Motherwell in 50% of their away days. We’re also going for a final score of 1-1, a result which Hibs have seen in 3 of their last 6 fixtures.
